RACQ CareFlight Rescue is a Queensland based community helicopter rescue service that's helped more than 15,000 people. Their dedicated crews, including a critical care doctor, are on standby 24/7 ready to help.

Here are some interesting facts and figures about Careflight:

After nearly three decades, RACQ CareFlight’s biggest supporters are still the communities of southern QLD which contribute almost half of the service’s funding.

Every year RACQ CareFlight’s iconic blue and yellow choppers help hundreds of sick and injured patients.

A critical care doctor is carried on board every RACQ CareFlight mission 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

RACQ CareFlight’ South West operation employs a group of specifically trained Toowoomba based professionals who work on board the helicopter on weekends and school holidays.

RACQ CareFlight has a day time response as little as 6 minutes.

An RACQ CareFlight mission costs in excess of $10,000 at no direct cost to patients.

RACQ CareFlight established its part-time Toowoomba operation three years ago in response to the community’s consistent plea for a local service.

Over the past three years RACQ CareFlight South West has provided medical intervention to more than 350 patients - a significant figure for a part time service that only operates 150 days per year.

One year after the service was established, CareFlight purchased a twin-engine IFR helicopter specifically for the Toowoomba Base which continues to service the region on weekends, school and public holidays.
